AMPIA is saddened to mark the passing of our long-time member, Helene White.
Helene was a true pioneer within Alberta’s screen industry. She launched Alberta’s first syndicated series Connecting, a talk show for teenagers, and produced the popular teen series Caitlin’s Way that aired for three seasons on Nickelodeon. Helene served on the AMPIA board as Vice President-South from 1986-1997 and mentored emerging producers throughout her career.
“Helene was an inspiration for us all,” says Bill Evans, Executive Director of AMPIA. “She touched the lives of many people in our industry.”
Just last year, the Calgary Herald profiled Helene White on the changing landscape of her career and her passion for continuous learning and personal evolution. Watch the video here.
