Thank you for joining AMPIA for our two-day workshop at Red Deer College offering a hands-on program with guidance from industry professionals.
The workshop is designed to help emerging and mid-level producers build the foundation needed to take the next steps forward in their careers. Filmmakers were given the opportunity to attend professional workshops covering budgets, funding, marketing, career paths, company building and more. Speakers from different sectors of the Canadian and Alberta film, television and digital media industries (including representatives from DGC, ACTRA and NSI, among others) provided attendees with hands-on experience in the following aspects of production:
Creating a shooting schedule, production board and film budget
Exploring the roles of Producer, Production Manager (PM) and Assistant Director (AD)
Examining the procedures, attitudes, techniques and paperwork needed to run both large and small productions
Working with the Canada Media Fund (CMF) for additional content funding for projects
