2017 Rosie Award Nominees

We’re pleased to announce the finalists for the 43rd annual Alberta Film & Television Awards, celebrating excellence and outstanding achievement in Alberta’s screen industries.

2017 Alberta Film & Television Awards Finalists

In Calgary two production companies tie for the most finalists. Both Joe Media Group and SEVEN/24 Films produced or co-produced 17 finalists. Spotlight Productions is next with 13 finalists.

In Edmonton there is also a tie. Both Moving Artistry Productions and Mosaic Entertainment produced or co-produced 12 finalists. Close behind with 11 finalists is the National Film Board of Canada. The individual production with the most number of finalists is “It’s Not My Fault And I Don’t Care Anyway,” from Edmonton based Mosaic Entertainment, with 11 finalist nominations.

The individual production with the most number of finalists from a Calgary based company is “Heartland,” produced by SEVEN/24 Films, also with a total of 11 finalist nominations.

In order to qualify for an Alberta Film & Television Award a production must be produced or coproduced by an Alberta production company. For any craftsperson to be eligible he or she must have been a resident of Alberta for the 2016 calendar year.
