In front of a full audience at the Banff World Media Festival, the Alberta Media Production Industries Association signed a unique tri-lateral MOU with members of the Guangdong Motion Picture Industry Association (GDMPIA) on Monday, June 11.

The signing took place at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel as part of the ‘Doing Business with China Panel’ at 10 AM, introduced by Alberta’s Minister of Culture & Tourism Ricardo Miranda and moderated by AMPIA’s Board Chair Michael Jorgensen. Representatives from Guangdong Matrix Film Development Limited Company as well as Shenzhen Cultural Assets and Equity Exchange Guangdong Center signed the agreement with AMPIA to facilitate future collaborations between filmmakers in Alberta and the Chinese province, which represents its country’s largest box office with audiences of over 200 million. AMPIA previously signed an MOU with the Guangdong Motion Picture Association during its trade mission to China in January, 2018.
