Full Swing Productions launch website, artwork for crime thriller “In Plain View”

The official film website for feature In Plainview, a new crime thriller from NSI Features First grads Matt Watterworth and Scott Westby of Full Swing Productions, was launched last week along with the film’s artwork (above).

A trailer is set for release on August 14.

In the film, a dirty ex-cop recently sprung from prison seeks vengeance on the former partner who sold him out.

The project was a finalist in the Telefilm Micro-Budget Production Program in 2016.

KNUCKLEBALL Chosen for Fantasia Buyers Market

775 Media Corp is proud to announce its’ feature film KNUCKLEBALL is 1 of 5 international projects selected to participate in Frontières@Fantasia 2017: Buyers Showcase. This is the 9th edition of the genre focused market at Fantasia.

KNUCKLEBALL is a dark thriller and stars Michael Ironside, Munro Chambers and Luca Villascis. The logline for the film is: Alone and targeted on an isolated farm, 12 year old Henry finds himself at the center of a maelstrom of terror, and a dark family legacy, when his secretive grandfather dies suddenly in the night. The film was primarily shot around the Fort Saskatchewan area in January and February of 2017.

Knuckleball is produced by Laurie Venning, Julian Black Antelope, and Michael Peterson (775 Media Corp) and along with Bob Portal and James Norrie of international sales company Alliance Media Corp (AMP). The film is directed and co-written by Michael Peterson (Lloyd The Conqueror, Tiny Plastic Men) and is currently in post-production.

AMPIA Signs Historic Agreement With China

On June 12, 2017, at the Banff World Media Festival AMPIA signed an historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a delegation from the Administration of Press, Publication, Radio Film & TV, Guangdong Province (APPRTF) in support of Chinese- Alberta co-productions and enhance export opportunities for Alberta producers.

Signing the document were AMPIA Chair Mr. Michael Jorgensen and Mr. Liu Xiaoyi, Deputy Director-General, APPRTF, Guangdong Province. Following the MOU Signing, AMPIA hosted a ‘Working with Alberta’ session where Alberta Media Producers had the opportunity to meet and hear from the Guangdong delegation, and learn how potential partnerships may be formed.

AMPIA will be organizing a delegation of Alberta Producers to travel to China in the Fall. Details will be announced soon!
