Nomadic Pictures has been knocking it out of the park! This year the Calgary company launched Klondike, an original miniseries for the Discovery Channel, starring Richard Madden (Game of Thrones), Tim Roth and Abbie Cornish. Season IV of Hell On Wheels returned in August and now the team as three Emmys to add to their collection for the TV series of FARGO.
Producer Michael Frislev is thrilled to have “Outstanding Miniseries” attached to the show in its first season. “The Emmy is a testament to great scripts being executed by a fabulous Alberta production and post production team,” he said. “FARGO had 18 nominations and 3 wins, 10 Albertans were nominated and every person who worked on the production should hold their head up high. Chad and I are certainly proud of the work our Alberta crews did on FARGO and we look forward to diving in again with them on Season two.”
The adaptation of the 1996 film by the Coen Brothers filmed in Calgary this year, utilising Alberta’s cold climate for the setting of a vicious crime. The series has been picked up for a second season and will return to film in Calgary this winter.
Michael Frislev and Chad Oakes founded Nomadic Pictures in 1995 and have produced over $350 million in movies-of-the-week, miniseries, TV series and feature films in Canada, U.S. and Europe.
