Membership Categories

Category A – Producer

Alberta-based companies or individuals producing all genres of screen based content.
• Sub-groups include:

A1 - Company with more than 5 full-time employees and/or full-time contractors.
Fee: $420.00 (GST included)

A2 - Company with 3 – 5 full-time employees and/or full-time contractors.
Fee: $315.00 (GST included)

A3 - Company or individual(s) with no staff or contractors on a regular basis to a maximum of 2 producers.
Fee: $210.00 (GST included)

A4 - Individual Producers
Fee: $131.25 (GST included)

All new applicants for Category A must qualify under the following criteria:

Must provide evidence of Alberta residency (residing in the province for one year.)
Must have completed a moving image screen-based production on a commercial basis which has been disseminated via a commercial outlet or portal (which can include public or private broadcast, distribution, internet or direct to consumer undertakings).

Category B – General

Sub-groups include:
B1 - Broadcasters (Free TV and Pay TV)

• Theatrical Exhibitors
• Cable and Telephone Companies
• Government Agencies

• Foundations
• Guilds
• Unions
• Associations

• Film Commissions
• Distributors
• Digital aggregators and portals

Fee: $787.50 (GST included)

B2 - Alberta-based companies with more than 5 full-time employees and/or full-time contractors which provide Production and/or Post production support.
Includes- but not limited to:
• Graphics & Special Effects Companies
• Equipment Supply Companies
• Post-production Companies

Fee: $420.00 (GST included)

B3 - Individuals or Companies providing other support services within the screen industry.
Includes- but not limited to:

• Lawyers
• Accountants
• Publicists

• Hotels
• Car rental Companies
• Insurance Companies

• Caterers
• Graphic Designers

Fee: $210.00 (GST included)

B4 - Individuals or companies with 5 or less full-time employees and/or contractors which provide Production and/or Post production support services.
Includes- but not limited to:
• Graphics & Special Effects
• Equipment Supply
• Post Production

Fee: $183.75 (GST included)

B5 - Individual craftspeople and production personnel.
Includes-but not limited to:

• Actors/Performers
• Screenwriters
• Set Designers
• Animators
• Production Designers

• Freelance News Reporters
• Anchors/Hosts
• Cinematographers
• Directors

• Editors
• Voice-Over Artists
• Make-Up Artists
• Costume Designers

Fee: $131.25 (GST included)

Category C – Student

Post Secondary Institutions & Individual Student Membership
Sub-groups include:

C1 - Educational Institutions: Membership in this category provides ‘umbrella coverage’ for all staff, or students who are enrolled full-time in institutions’ programs or courses. Includes:
• Post Secondary Institutions
• High Schools
Note: Coverage for students in this category is for FULL calendar year (Jan-Dec)
For example, if a student has completed the term or graduated from the program earlier in that year, they are still eligible for member benefits for the remainder of the year.

Fee: $525.00 (GST included)

C2 - Individual Students: Individuals enrolled full-time in a Post-Secondary institution or High School. Proof of enrollment must be included with application.
Fee: $26.25 (GST included)
