AMPIA’s Trade Mission to China is fast approaching! The dates for our Mission are January 7-13, 2018. This will be Alberta’s first Provincial screen-based industries trade mission to China – this is your opportunity to access the largest market in the world and meet with distributors, investors and potential Co-production partners. We are working closely with our Alberta Government representatives on the ground in Guangzhou and Shanghai and have secured meetings with some of the top Industry Associations and biggest film production companies in both cities. Both jurisdictions are interested in doing business with Alberta and they are interested in exploring technical cooperation, post-production, training, technology, investment and more! If you have not yet done so, please start working on your applications to the Alberta Export Expansion Package. We have been assured that new eligibility criteria are coming soon. In the meantime, you can apply and get the ball rolling so that once the guidelines are in place, you will be at the front of the line!
In addition, Heritage Minister Melanie Joly announced on October 5 that she will be leading a Trade Mission in April. You will find in the Backgrounder and on the web site the details that are currently available about the mission including a list of selection criteria that will be used to assess each company’s suitability. If you have questions or would like to discuss expected outcomes for the trade mission, please contact Viviane Doyon, Senior Analyst, International Trade Operations & Project Lead for 2018 Trade Mission to China, Copyright and International Trade Policy Branch, Department of Canadian Heritage, firstname.lastname@example.org, phone: 819.934.5013
