AMPIA Participates in Alberta’s Trade Mission to China

AMPIA has been invited to join an Investment Attraction mission to China, led by Economic Development and Trade Minister Deron Bilous from November 21– 27, 2016. The mission will focus on promoting Alberta’s diverse industries, including film & television. AMPIA will be meeting with officials from the Provincial Publicity Department of Guangdong to discuss opportunities for Alberta in terms of Culture and Tourism initiatives which are linked to the MOU signed between Alberta and the Guandong Department of Commerce in March 2016.

Minister Bilous will be meeting with Mr. Shen Haixong, Standing Committee member of the Communist Party of China Guangdong Committee, and Chief of the Provincial Publicity Department of Guandong. Also attending the meeting will be Deputy Minister Jason Krips, Consul General Rachel Bedlington and Ron Hoffman, Senior Representative for the Asia Pacific Basin, Government of Alberta. Representatives from Calgary Economic Development, Edmonton Economic Development and Western Diversification Canada will also attend. Other meetings and industry sessions are set for Shanghai and Yantai.
