The Alberta Media Production Industry Association (AMPIA) has added four new Directors to its Board at the association’s Annual General Meeting, held September 25, 2013 in Red Deer, Alberta.
“As we witness the rise of ‘second screens’ and watch television now actually converge with the Internet, have new content providers like NetFlicks, and see the feature film industry undergoes dramatic changes, I am delighted to welcome these four new members to AMPIA’s Board of Directors,” said AMPIA President Joe Novak.
“I look forward to working with our new Directors as well as our returning Board members.” said Bill Evans, Executive Director of AMPIA. “They will work with us to ensure our industry not only embraces the challenges and opportunities that the current ‘digital disruption’ offers but, as Albertans often do, lead the way forward.”
The new Directors are:
Linda Callaghan (Edmonton)
Punam Gill (Calgary)
Karin Klassen (Calgary)
Don Metz (Edmonton)
The new Directors join returning Board members President Joe Novak, VP North Mark Wood, VP South Larry Day, Secretary Norm Bishop, Treasurer Helen Schmidt, and Directors David Benson, Neil Campbell, Tom Cox, Mike Frislev, Michael Jorgensen, Ron Scott and Mike Shields.
Thanks to outgoing Directors Camille Beaudoin, Connie Edwards and Josh Miller for their dedication and hard work in helping to bring the organization where it is today.
